inv_gizmo_02Hello there! If you’re on the lookout for the fastest and most inexpensive way of levelling your Engineering from 1-450, look no further. Please note that the some of the information is presented on the assumption that each crafted item will net you one skill point, which is rarely the case especially at higher levels, therefore be prepared to spend just a little more on mats.

A word of advice, you might also want to take Mining to complement your Engineering profession. This is because Miners collect ore and smelt them into bars which in turn are needed for many engineering items. If you’re not interested in Mining, you have no choice but turn to the Auction House for your Engineering supplies. This will prove the fastest way but it is also a huge drain on your Gold reserves.

Engineering Apprentice. Levels 1-50

1-30

  • 30-40 Rough Blasting Powder. Materials required – 30-40 Rough Stone

30-50

  • 30 Handful of Copper Bolts. Materials required – 30 Copper Bar

Save these for later.

At this point, visit your trainer and learn Journeyman Engineering. Levels 50-125

50-75

  • 25 Copper Tubes. Materials required – 50 Copper Tubes, 25 Weak Flux.

Acquire Weak Flux from your Engineering Supplies NPC

75-90

  • 15-20 Coarse Blasting Powder. Materials required– 15-20 Coarse Stone. Save these for later.

90-100

  • 10 Copper Modulator. Materials required- 20 Handful Copper Bolts, 10 Copper Bar, 20 Linen. Cloth. These turn yellow at the 95 mark so you might need to make a few more to reach 100.

100-125

  • 30-45 Bronze Tubes. Materials required – 60-90 Bronze Bars, 30-45 Weak Flux

Visit your trainer to learn Expert Engineering. Levels 125-220

125-150

  • 40 Heavy Blasting Powder. Materials required – 40 Heavy Stone

and

  • 20 Whirring Bronze Gizmo. Materials required – 40 Bronze Bar, 20 Wool Cloth

You need both these items for later use and making this amount should take you to 150.

150-160

  • 25-40 Big Bronze Bombs. Materials required – 50-80 Heavy Blasting Powder, 75-120 Bronze Bars, 25-40 Silver Contacts.

160-170

  • 10-20 Iron Struts. Materials required – 20-40 Iron Bars.

170-175

  • 5-10 Gyrochronatoms. Materials required – 5-10 Iron Bars, 5-10 Gold Power Cores

175-195

  • 30-50 Solid Blasting Powder. Materials required – 60-100 Solid Stones. Save these for later use

195-210

  • 15-25 Mithril Tubes. Materials required – 45-75 Mithril Bars

210-220

  • 10-20 Unstable Triggers. Materials required – 10-20 Mithril Bars, 10-20 Mageweave Cloth, 10-20 Solid Blasting Powder. Save these for later use.

Learn Artisan Engineering from your trainer. Levels 220-300

You might find this section to be a huge drain on your gold, especially if you’re not mining the Thorium and Mithril Bars yourself and have to get all of them off the AH. Farming sucks, I personally find it to be huge time-waster and if you’re anything like me, perhaps you’d like to consult Hayden Hawke’s Secret Gold Guide for the downlow on some handy gold-making techniques that demand very little of your time. Less time farming, more time actually playing WoW !

220-225

  • 8 Hi-Impact Mithril Slugs. Materials required  – 8 Mithril Bar, 8 Solid Blasting Powder

225-235

  • 20 Mithril Casings. Materials required – 60 Mithril Bar. Save these for later use.

235-245

  • 10 Hi-Explosive Bomb. Materials required – 20 Mithril Casings, 10 Unstable Trigger, 20 Solid Blasting Powder

245-250

  • 8 Mithril Gyro-shot. Materials required – 16 Mithril Bars, 16 Solid Blasting Powder

250-260

  • 20 Dense Blasting Powder . Materials required- 40 Dense Stone. Make more if required.

260-290

  • 30-40 Thorium Widgets. Materials required -90-120 Thorium Bars, 30-40 Runecloth

290-300

  • 10-15 Thorium Tubes. Materials required – 60-90 Thorium Bars

Now head to Outland or Northrend, visit your trainer and learn Master Engineering. Levels 300-350

300-310

  • 10 Fel Iron Casing. Materials required – 30 Fel Iron Bars. You will need these later.

310-320

  • 60 Elemental Blasting Powder. Materials required– 15 Motesof Fire, 30 Mote of Earth

320-325

  • 5 Fel Iron Musket. Materials required – 5 Heavy Stock, 15 Fel Iron Casing, 30 Handful of Fel Iron Bolts

325-335

  • 10 Adamantite Grenade. Materials required – 40 Adamantite Bar, 10 Elemental Blasting Powder, 20 Handful of Fel Iron Bolts

335-350

  • 30 White Smoke Flare. Materials required -30 Netherweave Cloth, 30 Elemental Blasting Powder

This plans for this item can be purchased from the following NPC’s

  • Captured Gnome at Zangarmarsh
  • Feera  at the Exodar
  • Wind Trader Lathrai at Shattrath
  • Yatheon at Silvermoon City

This engineering recipe is on a 30 minute cooldown, which means there is a waiting period between each purchase. If this happens make sure to check the other NPC’s for availability.

Gratz on reaching the final leg of your Engineering leveling! This is the part where it gets REALLY expensive, I kid you not. Even I was unprepared for the exorbitant cost of procuring all those damn Saronite & Cobalt Bars. If you run into Gold problems, fret not, use this Gold Guide.  I’m really thankful for the advice in this book, it certainly made my life that much easier.

Visit your Trainer and learn Grand Master Engineering. Levels 350-450

350-370

  • 35 1-3 Handful of Cobalt Bolts. Materials required – 70 Cobalt Bar. You will need this later

370-380

  • 20 Volatile Blasting Triggers. Materials required – 60 Cobalt Bars,20 Crystallized Water. Keep making these till you reach 380. You will need this later

380-385

  • 7 Overcharged Capacitor. Materials required – 28 Cobalt Bar, 7 Crystallized Earth. You will need this later.

385-390

  • 5-10 Explosive Decoys. Materials required – 5-10 Frostweave Cloth, 15-30 Volatile Blasting Triggers

390-400

  • 15 Froststeel Tube. Materials required – 120 Cobalt Bar, 15 Crystallized Water

400-405

  • 5-10 Diamond-Cut Refractor Scopes. Materials required– 5-10 Froststeel Tube, 10-20 Handful of Cobalt Bolt

405-415

  • 10-15 Box of Bombs. Materials required – 50-75 Saronite Bar, 10-15 Volatile Blasting Triggers

415-425

  • 25 Saronite Razorheads. Materials required – 50 Saronite Bar

425-430

  • 10 Mechanized Snow Goggles. Materials required – 80 Saronite Bars, 20 Borean Leather,10 Eternal Shadow

430-435

  • 5 Noise Machine. Materials required – 10 Froststeel Tube, 10 Overcharged Capacitor, 40 Handful of Cobalt Bolt

435-448

  • Gnomish Army Knife. Materials required – 10 Saronite Bar,Skinning Knife, Mining Pick Blacksmith Hammer.

Make as much of these until you get to your desired level.

448-450

  • 2 Wormhole Generator:Northrend – 16 Titanium Bar, 4 Eternal Fire, 4 Eternal Shadow, 4 Eternal Water, 4 Eternal Air

To get your last 2-3 points, you can also craft other high level Engineering items but this is my preferred item. The choice is entirely yours.
