The WoW Authority Horde Leveling Guide : Tauren Starting Area Level 1 to 12
Throughout the early levels in Mulgore, you should stop at Level 5, 7, 10, and 12 and purchase any skills you need. Additionally, repair your gear as often as possible, preferably every time you return to town. Even if it doesn’t seem like you will need to, it can be a big help if you face a long dungeon or tough foe and lose your sword. At this level, you won’t have any spares lying around. Finally, make sure every time you return to town you have enough food and water to keep you alive until you return. Two stacks should be sufficient.
Mulgore

1. In Red Cloud Mesa, your starting area, talk to Grull Hawkwind (45,77)
- Accept “The Hunt Begins”
- Outside of camp, kill Plainstriders and loot 7 feathers and 7 meat.
- Return to Hawkwind and turn in “The Hunt Begins”
- Accept “The Hunt Continues”
- You will also receive your class letter. Take it to your class trainer nearby and follow the directions given, then return to the guide.
You should be at or almost Level 3 after completing your initial quest.
2. Talk to Brave Windfeather (45,77)
- Accept “Break Sharptusk!”
3. Talk to Chief Hawkwind (44,76)
- Accept “A Humble Task”
4. Talk to Greatmother Hawkwind (50,81)
- Turn in “A Humble Task” 1 and accept part 2
- Right click on one of the water pitchers located here.
5. Return to Chief Hawkwind (44,76)
- Turn in “A Humble Task” 2 and accept “Rites of the Earthmother”
6. South of the camp, kill Mountain Cougars and loot 10 Pelts (42,91)
7. Talk to Seer Greytonuge (42,92)
- Turn in “Rites of the Earthmother”
- Accept “Rites of Strength”
8. Return to Chief Hawkwind (44,76)
- Turn in “The Hunt Continues”
- Accept “The Battleboars”
9. Travel East to the tunnel (58,85)
- Through the tunnel, kill Bristleback Quilboars and loot 8 Flanks, 8 Snouts, and 12 Belts
- Kill Sharptusk beside his tent and loot the “Dirt Stained Map” on the ground – accept “Attack on Camp Narache”
10. Return to Chief Hawkwind (44,76)
- Turn in “The Battleboars”, “Rite of Strength” and “Attack on Camp Narache”
- Accept “Rites of the Earthmother” 2
11. Talk to Brave Windfeather (45,77)
- Turn in “Break Sharptusk!”
12. Leave for Bloodhoof Village and talk to Antur Fallow (39,82)
- Accept “A Task Unfinished”
13. In Bloodhoof Village, talk to Innkeeper Fauth (47,61)
- Turn in “A Task Unfinished”
You should be Level 6 right now or close to it. Make sure to upgrade your skills and repair your gear.

14. Talk to Baine Bloodhoof (48,60)
- Turn in “Rites of the Earthmother” 2
- Accept “Sharing the Land”, “Rite of Vision”, and “Dwarven Digging”
15. Talk to Mull Thunderhorn (49,60)
- Accept “Poison Water”
16. Talk to Zarlman Two-Moons (48,58)
- Turn in “Rite of Vision” 1 and accept part 2
17. Talk to Ruul Eagletalon (47,62)
- Accept “Dangers of the Windfury”
18. Talk to Harken Windtotem (49,59)
- Accept “Swoop Hunting”
19. Talk to Maur Raincaller (47,57)
- Accept “Mazzranache”
20. Go Southeast and kill Trophy Swops – loot 8 Quills (53,67)
- Also kill Prairie Wolfs and loot 6 Paws
- Kill Plainstriders and loot 4 Talons
- Find and gather 2 Ambercorns under trees and 2 Well Stones near wells.
- At (66,69) kill Harpies and loot 8 Windfury Talons
21. Talk to Morin Cloudstalker at (59,62)
- Accept “The Ravaged Caravan”
- Go Northwest to the caravan and click on the crates at (54,48) to swap out Ravaged Caravan quests 1 and 2
22. Talk to Morin Cloudstalker (59,62)
- Turn in “The Ravaged Caravan” 2
- Accept “The Venture Co.” and “Supervisor Fizsprocket”
By now you should be around Level 8 or so. Be sure you can get all of the quests listed here – if you cannot, grind to level up.
23. In Bloodhoof Village talk to Mull Thunderhorn, Ruul Eagletalon, Zarlman Two-Moons, and Harken Windtotem near (48,61)
- Turn in “Poison Water”
- Turn in “Dangers of the Windfury”
- Turn in “Swoop Hunting”
- Turn in “Rite of Vision” 2 and accept part 2
- Accept “Winterhoof Cleansing”
24. Go to the well and cleanse it using Thunderhorn’s item (53,67)
25. Return to Mull Thunderhorn (49,60)
- Turn in “Winterhoof Cleansing”
- Accept “Thunderhorn Totem”
26. Go to the Tribal Fire and drink the “Water of the Seers” (47,57)
- A wolf spirit will appear – follow it.
27. Talk to Seer Wiserunner (33,36)
- Turn in “Rite of Vision” 3 and Accept “Rite of Wisdom”
28. South of town, kill Bael’dun Diggers and Appraisers and loot 5 Prospector’s Picks (35,47)
29. Continue to Lorekeeper Raintotem (59,25)
- Accept “A Sacred Burial”
30. Go to the Ancestral Spirit (60,52)
- Turn in “Rite of Wisdom”
- Accept “Journey into Thunder Bluff”
- Kill 8 Bristleback Interlopers nearby
31. Talk to Lorekeeper Raintotem when done (59,25)
- Turn in “A Sacred Burial”
32. At Thunderbluff find the forge and right click on the Prospector’s Picks to destroy them (39,55)
33. Talk to Cairne Bloodhoof (69,51)
- Turn in “Journey into Thunder Bluff”
- Accept “Rise of the Earthmother”
You should be Level 10 now – you need to be at least this high to accept the next quest, so be sure to grind to Level 10 if you are not there yet.
34. Talk to Skorn Whitecloud (46,60)
- Accept “The Hunter’s Way”
35. Return to Bloodhoof Village and talk to Baine Bloodhoof and Mull Thunderhorn near (49,60)
- Turn in “Dwarven Digging”
- Turn in “Thunderhorn Totem” and accept “Thunderhorn Cleansing”
36. Go west and kill 10 Palemane Tanners, 8 Palemane Skinners, and 5 Palemane Poachers (33,62)
37. Talk to Baine Bloodhoof (48,60)
- Turn in “Sharing the Land”
38. Go to the Water Well at (49,60) and cleanse it with the totem in your bag
39. Go Northeast and kill Flatland Prowlers – loot 4 Claws (45,16)
40. Find the Venture Co. Mine (61,47)
- Kill 14 Workers and 6 Supervisors
- Find and kill Fizsprocket – Take a right at the first intersection to get to him
41. Talk to Morin Cloudstalker (59,62)
- Turn in “The Venture Co.” and “Supervisor Fizsprocket”
42. Talk to Mull Thunderhorn (49,60)
- Turn in “Thunderhorn Cleansing” and accept “Wildmane Totem”
43. Talk to Cairne Bloodhoof (69,51)
- Turn in “Rites of the Earthmother”
44. Talk to Skorn Whitecloud (46,60)
- Turn in “The Hunter’s Way”
45. Find Eyahn Eagletalon (38,60)
- Accept “Preparations for Ceremony”
- Near here kill Bluffwatchers – loot 6 Azure and 6 Bronze Feathers
- Return and turn in “Preparations for Ceremony”
46. Return to Bloodhoof
- Kill Prairie Alphas and loot 8 Teeth along the way
47. Talk to Mull Thunderhorn (49,60)
- Turn in “Wildmane Totem”
You should be very close to Level 12 now. If you have not yet done so, complete your level 10 class quest as you are about to leave the zone. Also, upgrade your skills, repair your gear, and buy new food.
The Barrens
