Note: The Blasted Lands is very straightforward. As you enter, there will be two points, immediately to the left and right respectively. The only really tricky things to keep in mind are Nethergarde Keep if you are a Horde player as it is an Alliance stronghold, and the Tainted Scar, which is well south and west of the rest of the zone, tucked into the corner.

Guide to Exploring Blasted Lands

The Blasted Lands is a World of Warcraft zone that many players may never need to enter, except to enter Outlands for the first time when they reach Level 58. With that in mind, many players neglect to obtain their Explore Blasted Lands achievement. However, as a relatively small zone with only a few hidden spots, it takes very little time to do a quick run through.

To effectively explore the Blasted Lands, you need to start by coming in through the only entrance to the zone – at the north end next to the Garrison Armory (55,12). You will likely get credit for this as well as Dreadmaul Hold (43,14), but make sure you go west far enough for the latter if it does not appear on your screen. Next, you will need to get to Nethergarde Keep (63,16),located to the east of the map. Make sure to watch out for Alliance NPCs in this area if you are playing Horde. Proceed south of here to the Serpent’s Coil (64,33).

Going directly west from this point, you will find the Rise of the Defiler (45,29), then the Altar of Storms (42,34), followed by Dreadmaul Post (48,43). You most likely already have the Dark Portal (58,54), so the last point you’ll need to visit is the Tainted Scar (38,59), located far to the southwest of everything else.

A quick run through of the zone will likely only take 10-15 minutes and get you the very easy to acquire “explore the Blasted Lands” achievement. If you do not have this WoW achievement yet, you should strive to get it as soon as possible!
